The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, attended the open forum on the topic “Unlocking Progress: The European Future of the Western Balkans”.

European integration in the region can only be achieved through bolstering strategic cooperation, as Minister Hasani noted, emphasizing Albania’s proactive role in this regard.

“We also need to see from the EU tangible commitment to the credibility of our EU membership perspective.We are eagerly awaiting the opening of the negotiations on the core group clusters in the Second Intergovernmental Conference by the end of this year. This would send an important signal to the credibility of the EU perspective in the region,” stated the Minister.

The Albanian Chief Diplomat emphasized the crucial role and engagement of civil society in facilitating economic growth, institutional reforms, and the region’s convergence with the EU.
